Project Overview
The Collaboration Platform Project is the first of a series of projects to be initiated under the Portal and Interoperability program. This project has a short term technical focus to put in place the necessary hardware and software infrastructure, which will provide the platform for subsequent business led initiatives.
Following the completion of this project, there will be a number of
follow-on projects/releases to ensure the new environment is
embedded in HIN as the standard for future system development.
Client Requirements
- Production portal platform (SharePoint 2010) that is accessible by all WA Health Staff on the HIN Network. This includes SLA's, operational support and governance
- Web Content Management platform (Alfresco)
- Portal interface, usability and graphic design
- Single Sign On Frameworks for the HIN Applications Framework
- Portal search capability (FAST Search)
- People search capability (Health contacts directory)
- Corporate News
- My Navigator - web part to allow users to add their own links to most used internal resources such as other intranets
- My Sites (Profile only)
- WA Weather web part
- Spotlight - web part to promote new Intranets, team sites, projects, forms and community sites

- HR Intranet Site

Our Solution
Following the Department of Health's selected and procured solution, Velrada was invited to provide project management services to implement the solution.
Outcomes
- Enables hospitals, health service providers, health workers, patients and WA citizens to more efficiently and effectively access information for which they are authorised – enabling them to provide the healthcare services that people need.
- Delivers a standard based technology platform, framework and related governance to the transition and migration of legacy systems and support modern technology architecture for faster, more flexible delivery of information services in the WA Public Health System.
- Creates facilities for the secure interchange of information with health service providers external to WA Health.
